Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-28-07  Tacticstudent: Excellent game by fine. It's very interesting the variation selected by Fine when Maroczy play 8-..., h6. Fine lost the pair of bishops and doubled his pawns in the e-file to have a central column open for his rooks. Intructive method Fine used with his rooks to keep with the advantage. Any mistake he did and the game was drawn, but he hold the initiative ( 27- Rf2! and 36- Rxc5! ) and destroyed any chance by Maroczy to draw the game.
Jan-28-21  Llera: Furthermore, Fine managed to create with his pawns a net that became a prison for the Black King: 16.h4!; 21. g5! (After 21.g5, there is the pawn net with ph4-pg5-pf6); 31 f4! and 35.hxg5:again, the pawn net f4-g5-f6. In the final position, after 40.Ra7 the irruption of the White King is decisive. White's pawn net is a prison for the Black King.
