  plang: 9 Nd5 ys a specialty of Romanishin. 13..Ne7 had been played in Konopka-Oral at the 1995 Czech Team Championship (White won); 13..Qe7 was new. 28..Qa8? allowed White to infiltrate on the c-file; Karpov recommended instead 28..Kg8 29 cxb..cxb 30 Bb4..Nd8 with a smaller White edge.
