jessicafischerqueen: This game is from round 2 of the <International St. Petersburg Tournament> of 1914.
Jan-11-12  Albertan: Jessica, according to Chessbase Megadatabase 2012 this game was played in a preliminary 6 round tournament at St. Peterburg. Capablanca won this preliminary event with a score of 8/10! The final for this tournament was held a bit later and consisted of the following players:

Lasker,Capablanca,Alekhine,Tarrasch, and Marshall. Lasker won the final:

St. Petersburg Final:
----------------
1.Lasker 7/8
2.Capalanca 5/8
3.Alekhine 4/8
4.Tarrasch 2/8
5.Marshall 2/8

The format of the final was a double-round robin. Lasker won both his games against Alekhine and Marshall in the final and drew and won against Capablanca and Tarrasch! What an amazing performance!!

jessicafischerqueen: <Wayne> yes that's right except there were 11 rounds in the Preliminary Tournament. <Benzol's> list of the rounds here in his game collection matches the Tournament Book: Game Collection: St Petersburg 1914

However I did list the incorrect round for this game.

This game is from <ROUND THREE> of the preliminary round.

Mar-18-12  ughaibu: Eleven rounds but a bye, so scores out of ten, for the preliminary.
