<Father Karras>,
Alekhine spent the first three months of 1933 on an exhibition tour of Asia, playing in Tokyo, China, Hong Kong, The Phillipines, Singapore and Indonesia. This game was Alekhine's only loss in a 43 board simultaneous exhibition at Surabaya on the 4th of March, and one of only 9 losses that he suffered in 469 games played in Indonesia in March.
