White is clearly better, but he plays the provocative 28.Ka2? Alekhine opens up the position with 28...e5! and 29...d4+.

Alekhine mentions a move he considered:

He thought about 40...Bxb2. If White takes the bishop with K or Q there is a fork at either e4 or g7. But he saw that White would answer ...Bxb2 with Bh5!

The queens came off soon after that and almost nothing happened in the last 30 moves. Move 48:

See? I told you so.

Mar-26-19  zanzibar: But where in Germany?
Mar-27-19  Nietzowitsch: People who can read have a clear advantage.
Mar-27-19  ughaibu: Coincidentally, it may now be Knight27. If it ain't, I can post again tomorrow.
Mar-28-19  ChessHigherCat: <zanzibar: But where in Germany?>/.

Can't you read? "Wch-m" is clearly Whachamacallit Germany!

perfidious: Considering that, same as in the 1929 match, these titans took their road show to every town in the country, 'Whachamacallit' fits.
Mar-28-19  zanzibar: Not every town, and I guarantee it!

If <CG> can be tasked to fix Tata Steel Site tags, or patch obscure minor player bios, then fixing up WCC games might be considered worthy.

If nothing else, normalize all the games with <(Various) GER> instead of the current inconsistent patchwork.

Apr-27-19  Nietzowitsch: <People who can read have a clear advantage.> refers self-evidently to <offramp>'s post.
Apr-28-19  JimNorCal: Oh, I know! I know!
<offramp> said 'Munich'!
