Jul-28-03  hickchess99: you know how when a basketball player makes an awesome dunk, or a linebacker pulverizes a quarterback for a sack, you yell something like, "ooh, got dunked on" or "dang, that guy got stuffed". ok, maybe everyone else doesn't do that. but, anyway. does anyone else do that after looking at a chess game? cause i did something to that effect after looking at this one. or is it possible that im the geekiest person on the planet?
Jul-28-03  PVS: Grabbing the white queen with 17...Nxe4 likewise leads to a deomolition: 18. Nxd8+ Kh8 19. Nf7+ Rxf7 20. Bxf7 Nxf2 21. hg hg 22. Bf8+
Nov-21-03  Cerebrate2006: i didnt yell it, but i sure was thinking that alekhine gave that guy "a smackdown"
Nov-21-03  PinkPanther: Yeah black sure got shown who his daddy was. However, this Cruz character scored two draws against Alekhine, so he must not have been that bad.
Nov-21-03  justy: PinkPanther: It seems to me, the two draws are actually one game.

kevin86: CHESSGAMES:(I see you borrowed my slogan.I'm glad you liked it).Alekhine was to chess what Beethoven was to music-brilliant,but a bit erratic, and maybe a bit demonic!
Sep-06-05  lopium: Nice pulverization.
Nov-02-07  PAWNTOEFOUR: games like this give us all hope.......hope that this won't happen to us

Oct-07-10  sevenseaman: The queerest looking mate like a daylight robbery with no one to help.
Oct-07-10  DarthStapler: I believe this is what's called "castling into it"

Sep-23-16  Travis Bickle: Brilliant minds make complex problems simple. The only problem is us mere mortals don't see the simple. ; )

MissScarlett: Black isn't the Brazilian Walter Cruz, just one of 60 boards in a Lisbon simul. Corrections submitted.
Sep-23-16  TheTamale: 8) ... 0-0?? Black must've had a death wish.

Sep-23-16  DLev: A Murder of Cruz.
Sep-23-16  dark.horse: Cruz is Trumped.
Sep-23-16  TheBish: Death by a lowly pawn! This is a case of a pawn being worth more than either queen.
Sep-23-16  sleepyirv: Wow, how did <chessgames.com> know Ted Cruz was going to endorse Trump today?
Jan-11-17  ISeth: Alekhine prepared to demolish the King hiding behind the e5 pawn . All planning & Operations were done where Black's extra e5 pawn fataled his own Activity .
