Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-27-04  cruzian: Game 41 C.H.O'D Alexander's "Alekhine's Best Games of Chess 1938-45". According the book Alekhine played 25...Nxg2+ instead of 25...Bxg2 given here and in CB Megabase. 25...Nxg2+ seems indeed to be the more stronger move. (but of cource Bxg2 also wins ) Alexander's concluding remark:
"An instructive game, White's inaccurate opening play being severely punished. In this as in many other games, Alekhine shows his ability to work up a violent attack after the exchange of Queens. (...)"

On move Fritz finds a stronger continuation for Alekhine, and on move 16 a recommends better defence for white:

[14...Nxd4!? 15.Bxe4 Nxe4+ 16.Qxe4 Nxb3+ 17.axb3 Bxe4-+ ] [ 16.Bxc6!? should not be overlooked 16...Bxc6 17.Rhc1 with small advantage for black]

Mar-27-04  WMD: Correct, he did play Nxg2.
