Benzol: Apparently all four Alyekhin - Pomar games are in the database. Pomar missed his great chance in thier Gijon 1944 encounter. In this game Alyekhin gradually takes command of more space and then converts this into material gain.
Sep-01-06  Toastman: Why does alekhine switch between refering to himself in the third person: "Here, as we shall see, it was Black
who took it upon himself"
and the first person:
"I did not play"
are the annotations from multiple annotators?
Sep-01-06  whatthefat: <Toastman>
It sounds that way. The annotations are also riddled with typos.
Aug-23-10  echector: Annotators, even when they are analyzing their own game, often refer to the players as black or white.
Mar-17-18  jinkinson: Sure, Salamanca lost, but he put up a good fight for a 14 year old against a former WC.

  MissScarlett: Former?
Apr-01-18  jinkinson: <MissScarlett> Oh yeah, he was world champion from 1937 until he died. You're right, I was wrong.
