WannaBe: 1...c5 is an improvement. =)
Oct-24-07  whiteshark: Generally he should have moved other pieces. :D
Oct-25-07  MUG: 5...Qxd7 is a good place to start; it's better move then 5...Bxd7 as the Queen is more useful on d7 when looking to disrupt Whites centre with moves like ...b5, ...c6, and ...d6.
Jan-02-10  Dr. ADHAM: I think black should have played 19. ..Qxd4+ 20.Nxd4 Rxd4 21.Nxf5 Rd2+ then (if 22.Ke1 or Ke3 22. ..Rxg2),(if 22.Kf1 or Kg1 the black rook is blocked) and (if 22.Kg3 Nh5+)

fredthebear: 17.Ng3 is a sweet zwischenzug. One possible response to a threat of being captured (17...bxNc3) is to temporarily ignore it and make an equal or greater threat of one's own.

The problem with 19...QxQd4+ 20.NxQd4 etc. is that exchanges simplify, aiding White's advantage of the queenside majority. At least 19...Qxc6 removes the leading passed pawn, no small matter, but the lurking White knights are troublesome.
