Gypsy: 24.Rxa8 Qxa8 25.Qc1 exf3 26.gxf3 Rxf3... is probably hopeless, but White could certainly have played a few more moves.

Not sure if this was "the" Ulf Andersoon; he would have been about 11. <Benzol: Ulf Andersson. Born 27th June 1951 in Vasteras. Awarded the IM title in 1970 and the GM title in 1972.>

Jan-27-05  Saruman: <Gypsy> Actually its called Västerås :P. Currently I think he lives in Arboga.

Gypsy: Thank you <Saruman>. Was it also him in this Petrosian game Ulf Andersson vs Petrosian, 1960?
Jan-27-05  Saruman: <Gypsy> I think you can trust <acirce> on this matter :-) Given the fact that he would only have been 9 years old.
Jan-27-05  Abaduba: Plus, THE Ulf Anderssen would probably never play something so sharp as the Samisch. His style is not quite as aggressive as the Adolph of the same last name. ;-)

ray keene: this is certainly not ulf!!
Jan-28-05  Saruman: I think this "Ulf Andersson"-profile should look like this;Ulf Andersson(*)

(*)Not the real Ulf Andersson.

Jan-28-05  waddayaplay: It may have been a simul
Jan-28-05  acirce: gives White as Bengt Andersson, not Ulf.

<Abaduba> It's Ulf Andersson and Adolf Anderssen. Not quite the same last name.

Mar-10-12  screwdriver: I think black has an edge here, but if someone owns Houdini or Rybka, I'd like to know if white prematurely resigned.

Apparently not. 24.Rxa8 Qxa8 25.Qc1 exf3 26.gxf3 and now 26...Rxf3 (as per Gypsy) or 26....Qxf3 seems to give Black a completely winning position, e.g. 26....Qxf3 27.Qc8+ Rf8 28.Qe6+ Kh8 29.0-0 (29.Rh2 Qd3! wins) Qf4! and White has no good answer to ...Rf5.
