Honza Cervenka: Smyslov solved the Hedgehog in a Cage Puzzle successfully here.
Nov-28-08  waustad: There were a lot of short draws between these two.
Nov-28-08  Brown: <waustad> There were a lot of short draws at the dwarf art school.
Nov-28-08  AnalyzeThis: Maybe there were a lot of short draws, but this isn't an example of one of them.
Dec-26-08  Brown: Moves 21-24 are quite slick. By inducing black to play 21..f6, white's 22.Qe3 is now threatening exchanges on the d-file, followed by Qxe6+ and Qxd6. Then the peekaboo bishop to a3, making black play b4, only to shuffle back, leaving white with an intact pawn majority on the Q-side.

The pressure on the d-file is maintained despite the swapping of queens. Black's exchange sac finds no compensation. Very good game by Smyslov.
