Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-02-15  Conrad93: The first game in the database to feature the sacrifice 12. Be2!?
Apr-01-16  tigreton: Jesús de la Villa analises this ending in his book The 100 endgames you must know, as an example of the defense of the second rank. Black played correctly, except for 68 ... Rc2?, that allowed White to build the Philidor position with 69 Rg7 followed by Kf5 and Be5 winning.
Sep-17-20  rgossiaux: I have to imagine 68...Rc2 69.Be3 was simply a transcription mistake, and that the game actually saw 68...Re2+ 69.Be3. ...Rc2 makes no sense and neither does Be3, and the moves that both players "missed" (68...Re2+, and after 68...Rc2 69.Rg7+) are very easy and obvious.
