Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-07-06  Knight13: 42... Qf5 is probably forced... and a good move, and taking the knight leads to a draw due to connected passed pawns.
Jul-30-06  sneaky pete: <21.Bg5? ..> Both players (and annotator Staunton) overlook 21... Rxf3 22.Bxe7 Rxf1+ or 22.Rxf3 Bxg5 with black advantage.

<38... e5?> 38... Ng6 attacking f2 and if 39.Rh2 hxg4 (40.Qxg4 Ne5) looks much stronger. 38... e5 may be intended as a trap, inviting 39.Qxe5? Nh3+ 40.Nxh3 Qf1+ 41.Kh2 Rf2+ 42.Nxf2 Qxf2+ 43.Kh3 Qf3+ with a forced draw.

<43.Kxe2? ..> 43.g6 .. wins easily (Staunton).

<48.Qxe4? ..> 48.g6 .. still wins (Staunton).
