Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-15-12  Ulhumbrus: 22 Bg4 both unpins the e5 pawn by defending the knight on e2 and threatens to shatter Black's king side pawn structure by Bxh5. Lasker does shatter Black's king side pawn structure a few moves later by Bxh5 and ends up winning a couple of pawns

NM JRousselle: Is there a reason why Black did not play 14... g6? This would have kept the position closed. After 15. f5, White has all the play and the 2 Bishops.

perfidious: <NM JRousselle>: In my opinion, White was slightly better anyway, but your idea seems reasonable.

Blackburne might have considered long castling in this middlegame as well. If Black does nothing positive, he may fall into a passive position, so I believe he has try stirring up some imbalance before White's advantages (space, central grip and the bishop pair) come to the fore.

keypusher: Interesting to compare Lasker vs Chigorin, 1895, which has a sort of similar opening. Here Lasker plays f4-f5 early, which he neglected to do against Chigorin. Does seem like Black should have tried 14....g6 as suggested by JRousselle.
Feb-27-13  RookFile: 4...Bxf3 could have waited, of course. Not sure what the hurry there was.
