Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-09-07  Andreiko: What about 14.f4 (!?).
AA.
Apr-09-07  Bob726: why f4? nf6 and ne4 controlling e4
Apr-10-07  Andreiko: The idea of 14.f4 was Rf3-h3;
but after 14...Nf6 15.Qh4 is probably not so strong.
The problem is that Botvinnik play Nh5 to change the Knight and now pull behind the Queen: stylistic is not so great (or?). A.

  Honza Cervenka: Cool Knight ending. 77...b3 was a howler but the alternative was only waiting for the inevitable anyway, for example 77...Kh7 78.Nb3 Kg7 79.d5! exd5 80.e6 etc.
Feb-24-16  reenareena: Nice end game
Feb-25-16  ndg2: Novotelnov defended tenaciously but the second the rooks come off he gives away a pawn? But the pawn breakthrough on d5 may win anyway.

  perfidious: <ndg2: Novotelnov defended tenaciously but the second the rooks come off he gives away a pawn? But the pawn breakthrough on d5 may win anyway.>

As noted above--and we may infer that Black, a clearly stronger player than <Honza> or I, saw this--for it is not difficult:

<....the alternative was only waiting for the inevitable anyway, for example 77...Kh7 78.Nb3 Kg7 79.d5! exd5 80.e6 etc.>
