Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-18-08  Knight13: <Position after game 20> I had something just like this in OTB except that my opponent's rook was immobile!
Mar-21-08  Knight13: 3. c4 forces white into playing the Maroczy Bind, though Irving Chernev condemned this move in his book "The Most Instructive Games of Chess Ever Played."

kevin86: How sorry was it for Botvinnik when he couldn't take the exposed rook on move 22. The rest of the game was hopeless after that.
Jan-29-11  dumbgai: This opening looks great for white.
Sep-15-13  zydeco: This line (6.....Bg4) looks terrible for black. In the other games in the database, black plays 13....Nxc3 and there's some interesting play with the rook, knight, and bishop zeroing in on d1, but black isn't even close to setting up a mating net.

Nice technique from Smyslov, who always seems to be winning by exactly one tempo: 21.Bd3!, 25.Rd1!, 32.Rd8!, 42.Rd3!

WorstPlayerEver: Smyslov missed a nice tactic:

21. Kd2 Rxb6 22. axb6 Rxa1 23. b7 Rb1 24. Ba6 Rb6 25. c4 and Black can resign.
