Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-31-05  tjipa: I thought long and hard about the idea behind the knight sacrifice 20. Nd7 (and why Petrosian declined...) till I gave up and doublechecked in another database - yep, it was 20. Nd3 :)
Apr-04-08  Knight13: I'd rather play Black in the final position. But then this is just one of those routine Queen's Gambit Accepted draws.
Jul-16-09  nymsso: I think Black has edge here...
Petrosian has a more active bishop and White's b3 pawn seems to be a nice target...
Mar-10-14  RookFile: I don't know how routine a draw in the QGA is. There are many, many games, where white pulverizes black with a timely d5! thrust.

perfidious: Here is a game with the IQP with a missed early opportunity for d5, which would indeed have given Black great difficulties: Smyslov vs Karpov, 1971.

The continuation of the game was also pretty, if one were White.

Feb-25-18  tgyuid: its better to offer a draw when your opponent is clearly winning
