Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-22-05  Resignation Trap: Botvinnik: "As with Stahlberg vs Bronstein, 1948, offered a draw on the 19th move! His opponent declined, played on and lost the endgame (bishop on a5). When there is a clear plan he plays well."
Feb-28-12  artsys: Botvinnik, the rationalist, unless he is talking about his bitter foe, David Bronstein. Any comments from Botvinnik regarding Bronstein you can take with a grain of salt, for Botvinnik definitely did not like Bronstein.
Feb-29-12  drukenknight: Why the hell not? Bronstein comes across as pretty honest in his comments at least so far as I read. And he was very strong and not afraid to play kings gambit vs Tal et al. What happened there?
Apr-01-22  cehertan: Bronstein, the great master of complex positions. He was strong as hell back then. And very personable when I approached him at Hastings once in the late 1990s. One of the greats without a doubt, and dont forget he drew a world championship match in which he really got the better of Botvinnik, who needed some crazy luck to maintain the title.
