Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-15-09  Everett: Some nice D from Bronstein here. Wonder if white saw 17..Bf6!, 21..Kf7! Maybe these moves confused white to blunder at the end.
Oct-30-11  Everett: <16.Qxg7> looks winning/mating
Oct-30-11  Shams: <Everett> I think you're into the Halloween punch on this one. 16...Bg5+
Oct-30-11  bronkenstein: No matter all my respect for Bronstein , but Velimirovic was superrior-to winning (and back and forth ... ) for very long time here , after just another of millions of his piece sacs ( his well deserved nickname was`Yugoslav Tal` ). He blew it somewhere past move 30 , overlooking not just the advantage but the whole queen ( knowing him, it happened in severe time trouble , and knowing Bronstein, the trouble was most likely mutual). (BTW <Qg7> drops the queen to <Bg5+>).

PS Being Velimirovic`s compatriot ( and having the honor to lose to him the very first simul I ever played ) , I had to `defend` him a tiny bit here =)

Oct-31-11  Everett: Everett: <Shams> hah, if only I had such an excuse! In "Secret Notes" Bronstein mentions that Velimirovic had a mate in 3 back in 1970. Thought that this was the game, and superficial analysis ensued = {

Wait, I just realized that Velimirovic missed the mate in 3 <against> him, or lose a Q for a R in the final position.

Apr-03-12  screwdriver: Bronstein definately delivered the knockout blow.
