Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-17-15  Paarhufer: Tarrasch commented 4.. Bc5? as follows: "Eher ist das Einstellen einer Figur zu verzeihen als ein solcher Zug! Was sollen sich die Dilettanten denken, wenn die Meister solche Stümperzüge machen?"
Feb-17-15  JimNorCal: Google translate makes a hash of it, but I think the thrust of Tarrasch's assertion is clear.

"Rather setting a figure is to forgive as such a train! What are the amateurs think if the masters make such bungler move?"

Feb-17-15  Tullius: A hash indeed. A better translation would be: "To put a piece en prise is easier to forgive than a move like this".

  tamar: Schalloppy play indeed.
Nov-12-19  zydeco: 20.Nd6+ is lovely. A good puzzle move.
Nov-12-19  MelvinDoucet: White has absolutely nothing after 12... fxg5. It's hard to imagine what black was even afraid of.
Nov-13-19  sneaky pete: 12... fxg5 13.Qf7+ Qxf7 14.Bxf7+ Kf8 15.Bxg5 ..

gives white strong attacking chances. Uncredited analysis quoted by Gillam.

Whether these chances are sufficient compensation for the sacrificed Knight I don't know. At least Ra8, Nb8 and Bc8 will not participate in the discussion on this matter.
