plang: Nice win for the knights over bishops.
Bronstein recommended 21 f4 forcing a pawn duo on e5 and d5 even at the cost of a pawn. 22 f4 was a clever attempt to complicate but Euwe played the rook ending very well.
Apr-03-09  Mate Hunter: 22. f4 was played too late. If it should be played at all, then it should've been played in the 21st move. There was other interesting alternatives as well. But it has to be agreed that black's knight's strength decided the win.
Jun-30-09  superstoned: <Mate Hunter> maybe if Taimanov had had to put more effort into acquiring his passed d-pawn he woulda been more alert to increasing its strength?

An Englishman: Good Evening: Looking at Euwe's wins from the Zurich 1953 tournament, it's hard to believe that this was one of his worst tournaments.
