Would we dare to listen on bended ear to the ruminations of Peyton Manning or David Beckham on global politics? I daresay not, unless of course we are angling for entertainment. So, for me this is one more proof that everyone started small. ^^ |

Not that he played so brilliantly in this game (in fact, Fischer played like the 1500).....But I think a 1500 in the 1950s was a lot stronger than a 1500 now But I think back then, if you were rated 2300, you were already one of the top 10 or 20 players in the country |

I agree that Fischer was not qualified to speak about anything other than chess, which is why he should have kept his mouth shut. The fact that he expressed admiration for Hitler at about the age of 17 was a good indication that he would self-destruct, just as the Fuehrer had. |
