Way back when <dukersterdog2> (I guess there was already a <dukesterdog>?) posted <24. Rd5 Rxe7 25. dxe7 Nc6 26. Nd6 Qxd6 27. Rxd6 Re8 28. Rd7 f5 (+3.45)> I was looking at 24.Rd5 f6, using only my own feeble brain, and wondered if 25.Rc5 was the solution. Black can't take the rook, obviously, and if 25....Rxe7 26.dxe7 Re8 (26....Qf5 27.Rxc8+ Qxc8 28.Nd6) 27.Nd6 Rxe7 28.Rc8+ mates. If 25....Rdd8 26.d7 Nxd7 27.Qxd7 and Black can't take the rook or the queen. But that should be checked with an engine, obviously. |

Addison was his only other opponent that opened 1.e4, and they played a Ruy Lopez. Kingscrusher did a very good video about it. W G Addison vs Fischer, 1963

Alternatively 24.Nc5 Rxe7 25.dxe7 Re8 26.Rd8 f6 27.Rxe8+ Kf7 28.Rg8 Kxe7 29.Rxg7+ also gives White a pretty comfortable edge.
