  An Englishman: Good Evening: Give Kotov a pawn minus and the initiative, and he was a happy man.
Jul-01-07  ALEXIN: Kotov explained (after move 25) in "L'Ecole des Echecs" that the compensations for the pawn are: good position of the bishop in d5, hard weakness of the position of the white king, domination of the A column and penetration in the 2nd file.
