Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-07-08  ughaibu: This is an interesting game, said the actress to the bishop. On move 12 Geller plays a typical Tal sacrifice, the difference being that Tal played it in the benoni, when he already had an open e-file. It's not clear to me that Geller really got anything for his piece, especially as by move 20 the balance has changed to Geller having knight, bishop and pawn for a queen. Then, on move 31, Uhlmann returns the queen to simplify the exchange up, but what was wrong with 31.Rf1? Play might continue 31....Nf4 32.Be4 Re4 33.Rf4 Rf4 34.Qc1 Be5 35.Qc8 etc, which looks to me to be promising for white.
