  perfidious: A few weeks before this game, I played the White side of this line against Kopec in Portland, Maine, managed to get a winning position, then threw it away in mutual time trouble, an all too common feature of most of my career.

Part of this game makes no sense, though, beginning with the fragment after 29....Qd7.

  Phony Benoni: <perfidious> Looks like this error is on the bulletin staff; the score follows what we printed exactly.

Perhaps Black played 29...Qc7; that would eliminate the gaffe and give an additional reason for 30.a6.
