Phony Benoni: This game was publishd in <Chess Review>, March 1939, p. 56. It was described as a "Clock game", and the date given as January 31, 1939. This would fit with other dates given for stops on the nationwide tour Horowitz was on at the time; for instance, he gave simuls in Los Angeles on January 24 and 26.

At Black's 23rd move:

The move given in CR is the ambiguous <23../-B2>. Our score has 23...Rc7; however, CR gives <26...QR--KB1>, which would seem to indicate the move was actuatilly 23...Rf7.
