Jan-01-06  Whitehat1963: Excellent tactics, but what's the finish or if instead of the text move we get 26...Kh8?
Jan-01-06  notsodeepthought: The finish is simply 28 R:c8, which cannot be stopped (except by 27 ... Rg8, but then 28 Rc7+ and mate follows). If instead 26 ... Kh8, then again Rc7 and mate follows. Bottom line: black could have safely resigned at move 26.

  tpstar: I saw 9 ... Bf6!? for the first time tonight and didn't like 10. Ne4 Bxd4 11. Nxd4 Nxd4 12. Qa4+ Nc6 with a free Pawn, but I never considered 12. Qh5 raiding the Kingside (12 ... g6?? 13. Qe5). After 19 ... Qxb2 White wants to play Nh5 & Qxg7#, but the Black Queen covers that, so 20. Rc7 "waits" while strengthening White's position. Then 20 ... Qb4 21. a3! (21. Nh5? Qxg4+ trades Queens) Qb2 22. Rc2 and now the Queen must leave the long diagonal (22 ... Qxf6!? 23. Rxf6 Kxh7) and White won quickly. Note 19 ... gxf6? 20. Qxh6 mates.
