Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-12-05  suenteus po 147: 51.Kf5 is a nice kiss-off move. The pawn is untouchable because taking it means Kramnik queens his own pawn. However, any move towards Kramnik's passed pawn means Kamsky's own pawns are finished. Admirable play, though, from Kamsky, trying to make the connected pawns on both sides of the board work with his knights versus Kramnik's rook+knight.
Jan-28-09  jrofrano: I don't understand why Kamsky plays these seemingly dubious moves like 8. ... e5?!. If somebody strong could explain to me why e5 is a relevant continuation that would be great. I actually played the white side of this exact line with e5 except in the game i played it continued Bxf6 gxf6 which rather ruined blacks pawn structure and ultimately gave me an edge.
Apr-17-10  The Rocket: e5 is played to open up to position making black one step closer to equalizing by freeing his lightsquared bishop on c8 which is otherwise weak in this opening. Its a good move actually.

If not e5 the other plan is to play b6, c5 and fianchetto the bishop but it takes a long time which white can use to his advantage.
