Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-09-05  Backward Development: It's not often Kasparov plays the Hedgehog, against Karpov no less!
Jun-22-06  Everett: <<Backward Development:> It's not often Kasparov plays the Hedgehog, against Karpov no less!>

Many Sicilian systems see the e6,d6 formation. Kasparov is no stranger to this.

When were these games played? I thought the two didn't meet for a serious OTB game under '84.

Jun-22-06  Father Karras: Think Kasparov was better and had winning chances in this game.
Jun-22-06  RookFile: Really? I think Karpov was better and Kasparov had to defend carefully to hold.
Nov-07-20  fisayo123: I don't know why Karpov delayed b5 here. Instead Rc2 was a bit too slow, allowing Kasparov to quickly double on the c-file. After 22. b5 Nc6, white has a serious positional advantage, the kind Karpov was virtually irresistable in.
