Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-16-07  Albums Dummyflap: The game ended after 22.Nf6+. The additional moves never happened in the game.
Apr-11-08  Knight13: <Albums Dummyflap: The game ended after 22.Nf6+. The additional moves never happened in the game.> The resultant moves seems to favor White a lot. I wonder if White won t his game and the result should be 1-0?
Oct-17-08  amadeus: 22...gxf6 23.Qxf6+, and White's best shot is a perpetual with Qg5+ Kh8, Qf6+ Kg8.
Feb-27-22  Canadian chesser: <Knight13> White definitely did not win. <Albums Dummyflap> is correct about the score of the end of this game being fictitious. See 365chess.com for proof. Kasparov wanted a draw and so the last move of the game is 25.Nxf6, a sham sacrifice (accepting means White gets his draw by perpetual check, as <amadeus> said). Instead of unnecessarily taking the knight to accept the implicit draw offer, Karpov just accepted Kasparov's (oral) draw offer.
