Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-08-04  Helloween: Move 38 must be a notation error. Kasparov doesn't give away free Knights.
Aug-12-04  dontknow: the result of this game is incorrect. It was a 5 minute blitz game and black lost on time!
Jul-10-06  KingG: Wow! Both players must have been in serious time trouble at the end.
Jun-30-07  Vollmer: Doesn't 24.Nf6+ lead to mate or win of material ?
24...gxf6 25.Rh3-f5 (25...Qc8 or d8 26.exf6 and mate soon follows ; 25...g4 26.Qxg4-Kf8 27.Rh8++ ; 25...Qf8 26.exf6 and there's no stopping Qh5 and mate)26.Qh5-f6 27.Qh8+ -Kf7 28.Rh7++

Kasparov would have never missed that in a longer game (seeing as how I found it just casually perusing the game) !

Mikhail Tal lives in all of us ... he showed us that all is not what it seems and Fischer (and Kasparov) showed us that it is .

Nov-13-08  KingG: It seems incredible, even in a blitz game, that Kasparov could play 38.Ng5??
Mar-17-16  rmraovich: Seems like the game was rushed at the end and you get a bunch of rubbish...
Mar-29-24  Ricosupercapo: Either the result of this game has been registered incorrectly and should be 0-1, or Tolya lost on time.
Mar-30-24  Olavi: Lost on time.
