GlassCow: Beautiful play by Karpov. He demolishes Najdorf's queenside with a strategic attack using Petrosian's favorite weapon a3 against the queen's indian.
Jun-12-09  ToTheDeath: I don't think Karpov did anything amazing in the opening. Najdorf blundered with <47...Kh8?> allowing White to set up a powerful rook check on d8. 47...Rb2 threatening both ...Rb1 and pushing the c pawn holds the balance.

<37...Rxd4!?> Is interesting- typical Najdorf move. Instead of the safe and sound 37..cxd4 Black hopes for 38.Rxc5 Rd1 39.Rxa5? Qd2 followed by ...Qe1. White can play 39.h3 instead but Karpov doesn't like allowing his opponents any activity.

The finish is very attractive.

Aug-11-13  Everett: <ToTheDeath> This is a great game played by Najdorf, and <47..Rb2> would have been a sweet move to see. Instead of parrying Karpov's threat of 48.Rxg6 and 49.Be4, Black had a very dangerous counterattack with your suggested move.
Dec-01-15  sleepyirv: <Rook Out Behind You>
