Oct-27-03  skakmiv: Why isn't 10..e5 good?
Oct-27-03  crafty: 10...e5 11. exd4 exd4 12. ♘xd4 ♘xd4 13. ♕e5 ♕d6 14. ♕xd6   (eval 0.54; depth 12 ply; 500M nodes)
Oct-27-03  drukenknight: huebner actually outplays him for awhile I wonder if 45...Rd8 and try to trade R for B/P leaving black an extra pawn.

also 49...Qf5+ looks interesting.

whiteshark: <<gambitfan>: the roblem of the ISOLANI (Isolated Pawn)> ???
Karpov didn't have a problem, guess I.
At move 28. dxe5 the pawn is no longer an Isolani.
I like the Art of positional transformation in Karpov's play.
Apr-09-07  gambitfan: As far as I understood, an ISOLANI is an <asset> during the middle game and a <drawback> during the endgame...

This ISOLANI is a very special one: an <IQP> (ISOLATED QUEEN PAWN).

Then Karpov solved the problem in this game by transforming his IQP into an f-connecred pawn!
