Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-21-05  hayton3: Having exchanged the heavy weaponary, from move 17 Karpov gradually exploits Black's pawn weaknesses with small arms fire until Larsen's position turns to rubble. Excellent technical chess.
Nov-29-05  vampiero: why didn't Black play 19. ...Rd8+ to exchange rooks, shouldn't that have definetly have lead to a draw
Dec-04-05  hayton3: <vampiero> Generally speaking the side ahead in pawns or that has the better pawn structure has greater chances of winning with the rooks off the board. This is because it is easier to draw rook and pawn endings than it is minor piece endings with pawns.
