Oct-11-10  mysql: Nice draw with Karpov, who was still in his prime.
Jun-12-11  wordfunph: tough IM Mascarinas! drawing with black against Soviet's board #2 and former world champ Anatoly Karpov..
Nov-21-13  scholes: Is not Black clearly better here ?
Nov-21-13  Doniez: And this is the link to the original song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiBY... . So enjoy this match dancing and moving to the sound of "hey Macarena"

FSR: <scholes> Indeed he is, although probably not too many people are going to decline a draw offer as Black against a player rated 340 points higher, a former world champion no less. Since this was at an Olympiad, it's also possible that this draw was part of a "package deal" covering more than one board.
Nov-21-13  King Sacrificer: Black is at the helm from move-6. Nice opening there.
Nov-21-13  morfishine: Black has all the play
Nov-21-13  kevin86: Black gave in too soon,he has the ad.
Nov-21-13  ed rs: nice event
Nov-21-13  Howard: Regarding the comment by ed rs, the
now defunct Inside Chess once said that the 1988 Thessaloniki chess Olympiad was "almost a disaster". Pairings were often posted late, organizational problems....
Nov-11-14  kamagong24: i think black may have some advantage here
Mar-02-20  areknames: <probably not too many people are going to decline a draw offer as Black against a player rated 340 points higher, a former world champion no less> You're absolutely right. Black is better, but was probably thanking his lucky stars for the draw offer.
Mar-28-23  paladintanks: white boxed in Nc4 unnerving to roll over whites camp
