Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-26-06  Billy Ray Valentine: I'm guessing 73... Qxe5 is a blunder.

Opposite colored-bishops can often be dangerous in middlegames with queens still on the board. Gurevich probably did not see the final tactical shot in 78. Qe5+

Nov-26-06  Albertan: Hi BillyRay yes you certainly are right about 73...Qxd5 being a blunder. Instead Gurevich could have played 73...g5 with this continuation possible:

73... g5 74. Qd3 g4+ 75. Kh2 Ba5 76. Kg2 Qc6 77. Be3 Qb7 78. h5 Qc6 79. h6+ Kh7 80. Bd5 Qf6

He could have also played 73...Qc6 and been okay after 74.Qb1 g5 75.Qb8 Qf6 76.Qg8+ Kh6 (the only move) 77.Qf7 Qxf7 78.Bxf7 Kg7 79.Bd5 gxh4 80.gxh4 a3 81.Kg4 Bf4
