Jun-27-04  Vischer: Why was this a draw??
Jun-27-04  acirce: Didn't know about this game.. but Black must have run out of time probably. This is a good argument for the increment system.

ketchuplover: If black ran out of time shouldn't he lose?
Jan-22-06  russep: I do think this should be a win for Karpov
Jan-22-06  esticles: Yeah, black running out of time is the only plausible explanation. <ketchuplover> In classical time controls, if one player runs out of time while his opponent has insufficient mating material, the game is a draw.
Jan-22-06  tiburon92: This is a joke...right?
Jul-31-07  Rook in the 7th rank: No!! What esticles says is right! When for example white has 9(!) Queens and black only his King and white´s time is over it´s a draw.
Jul-24-08  ravel5184: Even so, 75 ... Kc3? was a mistake and should have been replaced with 75 ... Rb4 76. Ka2 Rb3 77. Ka1 Kc3 78. Kb1 Kb3 79. Ka1 Ra3#. And you don't need much time to think about it.
Sep-24-09  WhiteRook48: you don't know about how much time Karpov had, if he had half a second-
Nov-25-10  Zkid: <ravel5184> Kc3 was the fastest mate... it mates on move 78 at the latest. Karpov played just fine especially considering he could not have had more than a fraction of a second here anyway.
Nov-25-10  Zkid: 75… Kc3 76. Ka2 (Ka4 Rc5 and mate next) Rb8 77. Ka1 Kc2 78. Ka2 Ra8#
