Sep-13-10  Pravitel: Already the 6th win for Karpov in the match. After the WC-split Karpov transformed (back)to a truly terrific being. He mauled Timman, one of his main rivals during his career, and didn't give the bright new stars Gelfand and Kamsky any chances at all in the semifinal and final Fide-matches. And there were quite a few nice tournament victories, including the greatest tournament performance of all time. Also it is worth remembering that Gelfand got against Karpov after he beat Kramnik and Kamsky beat Anand on the way.
