Jan-02-08  talisman: lots of moves to choose from, but 21...Ba4 is really pretty and sets everything up.23...Kn.xe1! 30.e5?? for white but karpov's knights in this game...?
Jun-22-09  talisman: ok talisman i'm going to answer your question. you make some interesting points but...hmmm (talking to myself again)..ok.. never mind. Why did i post here? must have been Shirov's 1st real victory over karpov.
Apr-24-13  Shams: Per Shirov, White should have met <14...b5> with 15.cb ab 16.b4.

This was already the fourth game between the two in the position after <8.Re1>. All three previous games were won by Karpov. Shirov briefly surveys his previous tries and why they came up wanting in this informative video he did with Ron Henley:
