Feb-16-03  tulkos: All of Blacks Queenside pieces accept for the Queen itself have not moved!
Sep-17-05  cade: It's pretty amazing how insane chess was back in the 1840's. What a game this is.
Jun-19-06  sandrea: was there something wrong with 15. ..Qg1
Jun-19-06  borisbadenoff: Nothing there are several missed forced mating lines:

After 14. .. Kc6 mate in 6
15. Qxd4 Nf6 16. Bb5+ Kxb5 17. Nc3+ Kc6 18. Qc4+ Kd6 19. Bf4+ Ke7 20. Qf7 #

The by you mentioned

15. Na3?? Qg1#!!

Then
15. .. d6?? 16. Qb5# !!

Then 16. Kc5 mate in 7
17. b4+ Kb6 18. Qxd4+ c5 19. bxc5+ dxc5 20. Rb1+ Kc7 21. Qxg7+ Ne7 22. Qxe7+ Nd7 23. Bf4#

After 17. Kb4 a shorter mate in 4 was possible
18. Qxd4+ Ka5 19. b4+ Ka4 20. b5+ Kxa3 21. Bc1#

After 18. .. Ka4 mate in 1 Bb3#

Jul-02-07  sneaky pete: White played 13.Bg5+ .. etc, see Von Der Lasa vs NN, 1842.
Jul-02-07  sneaky pete: The silly moves come from Von Der Lasa vs Z Jakovljev, 1842 where black has played 12... Qxc4.
Feb-06-08  frank124c: Black's King goes for a stroll!
Jul-14-13  zdigyigy: What is wrong with 14... K or QxQ?
Jul-14-13  thomastonk: I think sneaky_pete's intention was to say that this is not a real game and 12.. Qxd4 never happened.

I have found the game with 12.. Qxc4 instead of 12.. Qxd4, or equivalently the game Von Der Lasa vs Z Jakovljev, 1842, as v.d.Lasa vs Jaenisch, 2nd match game 1842 in a database of historical games.

Moroever, the game Von Der Lasa vs NN, 1842 is contained there as well, but as v.d.Lasa vs v.d.Goltz, Bonn 1839.

Maybe I will have later some time to search the contemporary sources.

Sep-20-13  julillo: This game should be wrong 14...Kc6??? 15.Na3???? d6??? (15...Qg1# or 15...Qxe5)
