Jul-14-04  Whitehat1963: Anderssen was ready to throw it all away, but alas, it was all to no avail!
Aug-28-04  morphy234: Why did he let Black take F3???
Aug-28-04  KingPawn: It is the quadd gambit look at some of morphys games to see it Morphy234
Feb-02-06  MorphyMatt: no, it's the Muzio Gambit. Main line runs 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 g5 4. Bc4 g4?! 5. 0-0!? gxf3 6. Qxf3 Qf6 7. e5?! Qxe5 8. Bxf7+?! Kxf7 9. d4 Qxd4+ 10. Be3 with complete chaos that would only work out in your favor if you were playing a blitz game of 3 minutes or less or were rated above 2200 or so playing someone 1300 or so.
Apr-26-09  number 23 NBer: I'm pretty sure 8 Bxf7+ is not main line and there is a good option, namely 8 d3. The complications can very well work well in your favour in other scenarios (although I'm certain you were joking about that), for example, I beat a 2000 player three times in a row with the opening when I was a lowly 1600.
Apr-26-09  number 23 NBer: And I'm wrong again. The lines I play are old and only work against people who have no idea what's going on (fortunately just about everyone). Sorry about that.

I should definitely check stuff before posting.

Honza Cervenka: 16.Rxe7+ was far too optimistic sac or possibly some kind of miscalculation. After 16.Bc3 white would have perfectly playable game.
