Jan-02-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: 10...Qxb2? Anyone collects poisoned pawns?
Jan-28-08  Waitaka: The c2 pawn had more poison than the b2.
Jul-02-10  screwdriver: 12...Qc1+ 13 Kf2 13...Qh6 defending mate on f8 but losing the rook on h8. But I'd still play it out a bit further instead of resigning by black.
Jan-27-15  Cheapo by the Dozen: I question whether Wall's opponents really resigned at the point the games end in the database. In several of his early games the loser was just the exchange down.

wwall: Yes, some of my opponents played on as much as a queen down until checkmate, while others did resign the exchange down. The stronger the player, the more likely that they resigned when a piece was lost. The weaker the player, the more likely they played on despite heavy loss of material or play on until mate. I did my best to preserve the game as played, unless it was ridiculous to play on and record a bunch of other bad moves. Most anyone can last past 20-25 moves without resigning and becoming a miniature, but most strong players know when to resign, even if it under 25 moves and the game may be found in the next Wall's Miniature or chess trap collection. I have actually seen it in print and heard from others to get past 25 moves to avoid the game becoming part of another Wall Miniature series.
