Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-30-04  aw1988: Love should be feeling quite a bit of Sad after this one :)
Jul-11-05  farrooj: koltanowski killed love! Shame on him
Jul-11-05  fgh: Love lost to hate :-)
Jul-12-05  farrooj: no, love lost to a guy named Georges
Jul-12-05  azaris: So much for Love winning out in the end.
Jul-12-05  mymt: The "Killer Grob",wonder if this games included that book.Theres no love lost in the way Kolty handled it ,but Love seems blind to the possiblity s maybe it was "new" to the general public back then.I like 6. ...Nd7 to hold the e pawn & ...g6, ...Bg7, before ...Nf6.Someone once told me "ignore the stupid thing & play normal chess"
Dec-01-05  Chopin: Georges showed no love in this game. He just killed Love!
Dec-01-05  HannibalSchlecter: I'm not sure why he resigned here. What happens if KxR? Or if NxR?

  tpstar: <HannibalSchlecter> 1) 21 ... Kxe6 22. Ng5+ Kd7 23. Bf8+! Be7 (23 ... Kc8 24. Qxb7#; 23 ... Ke8 24. f7+) 24. Bxe7 followed by another Discovered Check is decisive (24 ... Rh8? 25. Qf5+).

2) 21 ... Nxe6 22. Qxd3 is simplest, but Koltanowski would prefer something with more kick like 22. Bf8+!? again (22. Bh3 Ndf4) Kc8 23. Qxg8 (23. Bxd6!? Rxg2!? 24. Kxg2 Nef4+) Nxf8 24. Bh3+ with pressure plus 3 Pawns. Do you see anything better here?

Dec-02-05  HannibalSchlecter: <tpstar> your analysis looks good to me. I really appreciate it. I can see why he resigned now. Thanks a lot!
Jul-06-07  Whitehat1963: Proving that Love does not, in fact, conquer all!
Jan-20-08  The Chess Express: 12. Qh4 Nxa2 was better. After 13. 0-0 Nxc1 14. Rfxc1 (Probable best) 0-0 15. Nc2 Re8 16. d3 Bf5 17. Ne3 Bg6 black's development is worth more than white's center pawns.

Better yet was 10. Na3 Nxa2! 11. Nf3 Nc5 12. Nc2 Bd6 13. Qh4 0-0 14. Ncd5 Nxc1 15. Rxc1 Bd5 16. 0-0 Re8

Mar-03-08  D.Observer: Love was hurt!
Apr-07-08  The Chess Express: Man, enough with the puns.
