Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-13-09  WhiteRook48: after either 51...Rg6 or 51...Bg6 what does white play?
May-20-09  Abaduba: <WhiteRook48> After a set of Rooks gets traded, White is up an exchange and the Black King is too far away from their Queenside pawns. The endgame is easily won, especially for a player of Korchnoi's technique. For example, 51. …Rg6 52. Rxg6+ Bxg6 53. Kg4 b5 54. Rc6 (threatening h5) Kg7 55. Kg5 Bd3 56. Rc7+ Kf8 57. Ra7! and it should be clear that Black is toast. That is only one possible line, of course, but the basic idea is that the Rook can harass and restrain the black King and pawns at the same time, allowing White to make easy progress.
Aug-12-17  Toribio3: No more cover for Chekhover, Viva Viktor!
