Aug-31-05  RookFile: Kind of funny to see Reshevsky playing the Pirc Reversed, which is essentially what this is. Especially when you consider Korchnoi knew the Pirc better, and got wins including a famous win over Bobby Fischer. But, it worked out for Sammy here.
Aug-31-05  sitzkrieg: KI attack
Aug-31-05  EmperorAtahualpa: Am I the only one who finds this game weird??

29.a6?? 30.Qg4?? 30...Qxf1???? 32.Ra6???? 32...d3???? 33...d2???? None of these moves make sense at all! Either there's something seriously wrong with the annotation or these guys were both drunk!

Aug-31-05  Koster: It's just blitz chess after all, and no doubt both players were about out of time.

Calli: Did you notice it was 5 minute chess?
Sep-01-05  EmperorAtahualpa: Damn, too late to delete my kibitz. :)
Sep-01-05  RookFile: They must have been in ridiculous time pressure. Havne't really analyzed this, but Qxf1 doesn't seem that bad, but 32. Ra6 d3 deserves a laugh and a half on both sides.
Sep-01-05  ughaibu: "They must have been in ridiculous time pressure", it was a blitz tournament, what would you expect? Deep ideas, creative planning?
Sep-01-05  RookFile: Oh, my friend, you make it too easy.
Watch and learn from the master. Bobby's ... Nh8 is a great idea, he's already seeing about 8 moves ahead:

Korchnoi vs Fischer, 1970

Sep-01-05  ughaibu: Who is this "Bobby"?
Sep-08-05  lopium: bobby is Robert James Fischer I guess, as you did too. hehez! God, even a blitz game.... better people on the internet for sure, for blitz at least.
Sep-09-05  ughaibu: Wow! I had a post censored. Perhaps for excessive use of the 'B' word.
Sep-09-05  Jamespawn: Tell us what you said ughaibu. Only don`t use the B word this time.
Sep-09-05  ughaibu: A little difficult, about 95% of the post was the 'B' word.
Jan-31-06  cantdropwontstop: It's blitz Chess?
Oh, that's right - Herceg Novi!

Yeah, 32...d3?? is probably the most
outrageous. But we may as well add
missing 25...Rxc4! to all of the
above mistakes.
