Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-08-07  firefight: An example win of Korchnoi's in the 80's that was responsible for the French Classical going out of style with white.
Jan-25-11  Gambit All: 19...f5! is excellent. White either has to exchange his center pawn and secede full control of the center to black; or, white leaves black's advanced f pawn where it all but stymies the white ♖s from attacking along the G file.

I thought 13. ♗xc4, trading off his Bishop for the advanced Knight, was a bad exchange. Pasman hurt his chances by leaving Korchnoi with the only bishop in a relatively quiet position. Korchnoi used the game's only remaining Bishop very well, utilizing it both to attack and defend.
