Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-13-03  Ribeiro: A great attack! Black´s bishop at b7 is very strong!
Jun-13-03  Shadout Mapes: Ouch. 24...Qxg2+ 25.Kxg2 Nd2+ wins for black, but he blundered...
Jun-13-03  Calli: No blunder! The final position is mate in five for Black - 25.Qxb7 Qxh3+ 26.Kg1 Ne2+ 27.Kf2 Qe3+ 28.Kg2 Qg3+ 29.Kh1 Qh3# The result is wrong for this game. Should be 0-1.

  Honza Cervenka: <chessgames.com> According to the database of chessbase.com the game continued with 25...Qxh3+ 26.Kg1 Ne2+ 27.Kf2 Qe3+ 28.Ke1 Nxc3# 0-1

Of course, the result is incorrect here.

Nov-09-07  Operation Mindcrime: This chess game appeared in Isaac Asimov's Pebble In The Sky, played between protagonist Joseph Schwartz (black) and an elderly man whose family takes him in. Interesting choice.
Nov-09-07  outsider: this game was played in 3rd championship of the ussr and received the first prize for beauty. the problems with the score arise from the fact that in situations with forced win or mate those days (especially in ussr) a simple statement, such as "black won in five" used to be given. i am proud that i have known this game since i was 12 years old.

GrahamClayton: 19.h3 - go on, sac the rook on g2!
May-25-13  yairwein: This game appears in the book "Pebble in the Sky" by Isaac Asimov.
May-29-22  tbontb: White Verlinsky overlooks a winning R sacrifice and is immediately lost against precise play by Black Levenfish. Defence by 22.Be1 fails to ....Qh5 23.Kg2 Re8 24.d4 Nxf3 Rxf3 25.Rxe1. At the end, another alternative try 24.Qxg3 Nxd2+ 25.Qg2 Bxg2+ 26.Kxg2 Nxf1 is also hopeless for White.
