al wazir: Why did white resign? There is a lot of play in the position after 30...Nc4 31. Nd6.
Sep-14-07  Maynard5: Another possibility here is 30. ... Nd5. At this point, White cannot play 31. Re2 Nf4, while 31. Re1 fails because of 31. ... f5. So White must respond with 31. Nd6. This appears to hold, for instance 31. Nd6 Nxe3 32. Nxe8+ Rxe8 33. fxe3 (but not 33. Bxb7 Nxc2) and the endgame looks about even.
Sep-15-07  Strongest Force: It looks like Miles was going for a draw after 27...Rc8. It's strange how Winston resigned three moves later. Maybe Miles was making funny-faces that Winston couldn't handle?
Dec-25-16  cehertan: Database shenanigans, not a resignation. Either incomplete score, or much less likely he flagged, though not much has happened.
