An Englishman: Good Evening: Poor Colonel Moreau. We don't know for certain his correct identity, but we'll never forget the biggest null in the history of tournament chess.

Teyss: Colonel Moreau was to Monte Carlo (1903) what the Namibia rugby team will be to the current Rugby World Cup.

Correction: what the team has been to the World Cup for the last 24 years.

Sep-18-23  Brenin: <Teyss>: Namibia drew 0-0 with Canada in 2019, when the match was cancelled due to a typhoon. Colonel Moreau wasn't so fortunate, though he fared rather better as a military officer and as a mathematician.

perfidious: The collective sigh of relief on the Canadian side after that World Cup result was nullified could probably be heard half a continent away.

ajk68: Can you say "bad bishop"?
